HUJE Rehearses with McCoy Tyner

Earlier today we practiced with the great McCoy Tyner for our concert with the legend tomorrow night. And of course now I can not sleep. It was a true pleasure to see how real and down to earth McCoy is, one of the coolest jazz musicians ever. Here is a clip from our rehearsal, I take a little solo on it about half way through:

Many have you have been asking when my band will be performing on the weekend, because of the inconvenience of coming to a little bar on a Monday night to hear us play. So in response to that I have assembled a very special aggregation of musicians to perform my original music and arrangements at Twins Jazz Club on U St. Here's the lineup:

Joe Herrera and the Unity Project Perform at Twins 11/08/2009

Joe Herrera and friends will be performing the music from Larry Young's album "Unity" at Twins Jazz club on the historic U St. Unity was recorded on Blue Note records in 1965, and to this day is a favorite among jazz players and spectators.
